Native Americans and Anglo-Americans in Conflict

Directions: You must do parts A and B of this project: A short paper is due for each section.

Part A:

• Read the handouts.
• Using these documents, identify the causes of the conflict between Native and Anglo-Americans.
• Evaluate and synthesize this information by writing an essay which discusses these causes. You need to support your essay by citing the sources you have read.
• You should argue from general to specific. For example, if you argue there was a religious difference between the two groups, and leave it at that, this is a general statement. You need to dig a bit deeper than this. A statement that says there was a religious difference between the two and then backs this up with, Anglos tended to be monotheistic while Native-Americans tended to be polytheistic is more specific.
• Format of your paper (Typed, double spaced, 3-4 pages in length.) (50 points possible)

Write a report on the conditions of Native Americans in America today. (Typed, double spaced, 3-4 pages in length.) (50 points possible)
