Background
I started life at a Naval Air Station during World War II at Hutchinson, KS.
After the war my family lived on a farm in OK for several years then moved to
several cities in the Midwest, eventually taking up residence in Newhall, CA
where I completed High School at Wm. S. Hart High Scool. From High Scool I went
to Cal Poly (SLO) then transferred to San Diego State where I received a BS
and Teaching Credential in 1970. I student taught at La Mesa Junior High and
Helix High. I became the only Special Education teacher on the Helix campus
September, 1970. Iım married to a wonderful lady, Patty. I have two sons from
a previous marriage and two grandchildren.
Interests/Activities/Plans
Currently, I am interested in educational technology and the use of computers
in my classroom and the school. In the past four years internet and intranet
hook up has been a boon both for myself and my students. I am attempting to
push towards electronic I.E.P.ıs.
Other Interesting Things
Living on an acre in temperate Southern California has given me the opportunity
to learn grow and enjoy a variety of subtropical plants. I enjoy growing gardens
as well as a variety of cycads, euphorbias, palms, cacti and some indigenous
trees such as Catalina Cherry and Torrey Pine. Leisure time activities include:
hiking, biking and traveling in the western US particularly the Colorado Plateau
canyons and rivers.
