Save As HTML

1. Using Word, open the file you want to convert/save as html
2. Choose FILE from the menu bar and scroll down to select SAVE AS WEB PAGE
3. Locate the folder where you need to save your file.
1. Notice the file name has a different extension. It should now read .htm. This is what the Internet reads to display the information
4. Click Save

How does this work?

1. What word does is take your file and cuts it up into a bunch of small graphics that your Internet Browser will put back together again.
2. When you Save for Web, you actually have TWO pieces that your are saving.

—     The first piece is a folder that holds all the small graphics in one place

—     The second piece is the file with the extension .htm. This is the file that knows how all the graphics fit together.*

** If the .htm file is deleted or moved than your webpage will not work.
