Unit Overview

This unit examines the concept of "where" people are. Throughout this unit, students will study, learn, and analyze the locations of people, as well as why people are located in certain areas. In addition, factors related to population growth will be analyzed in relationship to governments, the economy and cultural customs of regions. Migration patterns of people, as well as, reasons for migration will be analyzed using a variety of sources. The technology component is focused on the mastery of skills learned in the Intro unit. These skills are: conferencing, emailing documents, using GIS databases to interpret information, using ArcView, and using the Internet to complement curriculum.
