Art Professions Research Project

This is a project that will have a number of steps that will ultimately culminate in a formal interview.

1. This is a multicomponent research project. You will be doing individual work as well as team work.

2. You will complete two worksheets to familiarize yourself with effective searching techniques and evaluations of websites.

Searching Strategies

Evaluating Web Pages

3. You will investigate a particular Art Profession with a group of students who have the same chosen profession. You will as a team put together a presentation with each of you writing two particular pages addressing the career questions and a separate page that outlines your personality and how it might work with this selected career.

Career Interests Game - Before you begin your selection you will discover your personality type. Click the link to begin the game. Make sure you keep your answers for later application in your presenation. Go back to the game page and make a list of ten careers from this list. From these careers compare them to a list from Fast Growing Occupations and find which careers match this list. You may not find your career documented. Each member of your team is to write a two page report agreeing or disagreeing with the following statement: "The most important consideration in choosing a career is whether the career is a fast growing career."

4. From the following list select a career to investigate. Each member of the team must choose a different occupation. Use the links listed to begin your research, but do not limit yourself to these links only. Use your web searching and evaluating skills to find information on your chosen career.

You may choose from the given list of Art Professions

  • Advertiser
  • Architect
  • Art Teacher
  • Fashion Illustrator
  • Furniture Designer
  • Graphic Designer
  • Interior Designer
