Hospitals and HMOs

Many careers are involved in the organization and administration of a hospital or Health Maintenance Organization. It is the intention of this unit to expose students to these career opportunities and teach them the organization of a hospital environment. Children's Hospital in San Diego and the UCSD Medical Center are both available for tours and guest speakers. Exposure to these organizations should pave the way for students to volunteer or produce joint community projects for their 12th grade graduation requirements. Perhaps these activities will eventually lead to student employment with these institutions.
