This unit consists of health related volunteer organization that may or may not be affiliated with the San Diego Science Alliance. SEPA activities within this unit are being organized by Michelle Pasch from the March of Dimes. Students are taught about the four departments common to most volunteer organizations by participating in a mock project. In this project, they divided up into the four groups for idea formation and then met as a group to design a real plan. It is expected that some elements of organization from this unit will be used by the 12th grade student-run public health education organization. Student volunteer work with several different volunteer organizations is expected in 12th grade and students may produce as a senior project, educational instruments needed by these organizations.
